Women's Collaboration Brew Released, Dress for Success Named Charity Recipient

BETTENDORF, IA - Crawford Brew Works released “We Can Brew It” Double IPA April 5, at the brewery.  The release was a collaboration of Quad City Area women in the craft brew industry. The event featured live music from vocalist Molly Durnin. A portion of the sales of the 'We Can Brew It!' DIPA, sold in the CBW taproom, will be donated to local charity: Dress for Success Quad Cities.

“We Can Brew It” is a Double IPA using PINK BOOTS BLEND HOPS, and dry hopped with IDAHO GEM HOPS. Crawford hosted the Women’s Collaboration Brew Day, on March 8, when participants joined forces from:  Bent River Brewing, Radicle Effects Brewerks, Great River Brewery, Front Street Brewery, Five Cities Brewing, Green Tree Brewery,  Gezellig Brewing Company, Mississippi River Distillery, Walsh Apiary, Brewed TV, and CBW. The Collaboration Brew Day was born from a desire to take part in International Women’s Day (IWD) March 8th by raising the profile of women’s roles in the beer industry. The event is promoted by the IWCBD and Pink Boots Society organizations.

Karen Schaar, of CBW has organized the event through the Powder Kegger’s. The Powder Kegger’s are a group of women who are interested in brewing beer. “The mission is to help other women discover this rewarding hobby, and to share our knowledge and support. We are a Brigade of Female Fermenters! So, I am super excited to do this together with other professional women in the local brewing community,” Schaar said.
